WSOP has Announced $1 Million Buy-In Tournament to Benefit One Drop

The World Series of Poker has announced a $1 million buy-in tournament to benefit One Drop. One Drop, an initiative started by Guy Laliberte, founder of Cirque Du Soleil, focuses on supporting access to clean water worldwide. One Drop uses a distinctive approach based on social arts and popular education to raise awareness of water issues. The BIG ONE for ONE DROP poker tournament will raise awareness and funds to provide access to safe water to fight poverty around the world.
European Poker Tour San Remo Day 4: Yunis Leads Going into the Penultimate Day

Sixty players returned for Day 4 of the PokerStars European Poker Tour San Remo. It was a short day as the field was whittled down to the final three tables in four-and-a-half levels. At the end of play, Nicolas Yunis, a Chilean player now based in Norway, topped the leader board. Yunis, a PokerStars player who had lived in the US for several years, had the advantage of being on a table comprised almost entirely of short stacks, with the only big stack seated to his right. Yunis finished the day with 2,281,000 – the only stack that will be above the 2 million mark when play resumes on Day 5.
World Poker Tour Seminole Hard Rock Showdown Day 5: Von Kriegenbergh Takes Massive Lead into Final Table

The televised final table was set at the World Poker Tour Seminole Hard Rock Showdown on Sunday and only six payers remain. Those six will return to action on Monday to play for the $1,122,340 first-place prize. Leading the final table with a commanding chip lead is Taylor von Kriegenbergh. He’ll enter the day with 4.384 million in chips.

On Monday, Full Tilt Poker announced the Onyx Cup, a tournament series with buy-ins ranging from $100,000 to $300,000 with an estimated $30 million prize pool across the entire series. There will be five preliminary events, culminating in a $250,000 buy-in Grand Finale that will see $1 million added to the prize pool. Such events are to be held in locations across the U.S., Europe and Asia.

High Stakes Poker Season 7: Selbst, Brunson and Esfandiari Highlight First Episode

Season Seven of High Stakes Poker premiered on Saturday night with new host Norm Macdonald.
